GES warns against unauthorised collection of monies from SHS/SHTS final year students

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a stern warning to heads of Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools (SHS/SHTS) against the alleged collection of unauthorised monies from final year students for clearance.

In a statement released by GES Management, the act has been deemed illegal and heads of schools have been cautioned to desist from it.

Any head of school found to have collected unauthorised monies from final year students before signing their clearance forms will face severe sanctions.

Furthermore, heads of schools have been urged to follow the laid down procedures for surcharging students who have destroyed, lost or stolen school properties before clearing them.

The Regional Directors of Education have been requested to communicate this directive to all Heads of SHS/SHTS for strict compliance to ensure smooth administration of schools.

Management of GES wishes to assure parents, guardians and students that it is committed to ensuring that the education sector is free from any form of corruption or illegal activities.
