Former Chelsea player Scott Minto believes the Blues will beat Newcastle 3-1 on Monday night.
Monday’s meeting at Stamford Bridge will be the third time the two sides have met this season with Newcastle winning 4-1 as St James Park and Chelsea winning on penalties in the Carabao Cup quarter final.
Mauricio Pochettino is in desperate need of a positive result as he aims to close the gap on the European places as his side try and avoid missing out on European competition for the second consecutive season.
This game kicks off a run of home games for Chelsea with five of the next six being played at Stamford Bridge.
The Argentine saw the fans turn against him in last weekend’s draw against Brentford and despite Newcastle being four points ahead of the London club Minto has tipped his former side to return to winning ways.
Speaking on talkSPORT he said: “I wrote down lots of score lines and threw them up in the air and close my eyes to pick this one. I have no idea what Chelsea side are going to come out. Even Newcastle are becoming inconsistent now as well.”
“Maybe it’s the heart ruling the head here, I’m going to go 3-1 Chelsea.”
Chelsea could kick off in 12th place if local rivals Fulham beat Wolves this afternoon.
