Nursing and Midwifery Council Warns Against Fraudulent License Renewal Offers

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) has addressed a concerning social media post regarding instant license renewals without the need for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.

In the post in question, an individual claims to offer a hassle-free license renewal process at a fee, without requiring CPD points.

The N&MC, however, emphatically emphasized that such offers are fraudulent and should not be trusted.

They urged all those within the nursing profession, including Nurse Assistants, Nurses, and Midwives, as well as the general public, to disregard such deceitful posts and treat them with contempt.

“Kindly disregard such fraudulent posts and treat them with the contempt that they deserve”

However, the N&MC stressed the importance of having a valid license to practice nursing legally stating that it is illegal for one to work without a license or with an expired one.

The N&MC noted that the CPD points system is a vital component of the license renewal requirements set.

“the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Points system, is the most important component of the License Renewal requirements of the N&MC”

The N&MC affirmed that they have not waived the CPD points requirements, debunking the claims made in the fraudulent social media post.

While distancing itself from the fraudulent publication, the N&MC assures that appropriate actions are being taken to identify and hold accountable the individual(s) responsible for the misleading offer.

They are determined to ensure that those involved face the full consequences of their actions within the bounds of the law.
