(Video): “He’s not a clean kicker of the ball” – Top pundit criticises Chelsea’s £300k a week star’s technique
Graeme Souness hasn’t been on Sky Sports this season, so we’ve had to wait for his TalkSport show to get his takes on Raheem Sterling, who has been the centre of the story since our last game.
Souness is a Sterling fan. But he did admit, as he put it, “he’s not a clean kicker of the ball.”
This mirrors some other criticism we heard this week from former Blue Scott Minto. For all his technical quality as a dribbler, it it Sterling’s ball striking which sometimes lets him down and leaves him exposed to bad misses in front of goal.
Souness is trying to be positive about Sterling, but ends up condemning him pretty brutally here.
