Your Date Really Doesn’t Need All The Details
It’s a good thing to assume that the technicalities of your job are not as interesting to everyone else as they are to you. In fact, you rarely want to go deep into the details. If you work in IT there’s no way that she wants to hear technical jargon that will go over her head. Don’t just give a one-word answer, but don’t say too much either.
Don’t Lie About What You Do
If you don’t have a job, just say so. You can say you’re in between jobs if that’s more comfortable for. And then even if your job isn’t the most glamorous lying about what you do means that you’re going to have to follow up that lie and in the end you’re only going to end up stressing yourself.
Don’t Just Go On Complaining About Your Job
If you don’t like your job, you can just find a way to avoid talking too deeply about it. You don’t want to dwell on negatives when you’re on a date with someone that you want to see again. No one wants to hear you complain about your boss and coworkers non-stop.

This is basic, no matter what you’re talking about. You shouldn’t be self-centred on a date. So when you’re done talking about your job, ask about theirs. And then, pay attention if they seem excited to talk about it.
