Black Stars vs Uganda: GFA sends morale to Black Stars

Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed the Black Stars’ unwavering determination to secure victory against Uganda.

Ghana is set to clash with Uganda’s Cranes in their final friendly encounter at the Stade de Marrakesh later today.

In their previous friendly match against Nigeria last Friday, the Black Stars suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat, despite playing with only 10 players following Jerome Opoku’s dismissal in the second half.

Ahead of the game, Asante Twum emphasized the team’s eagerness and preparedness to emerge victorious against the Cranes.

Speaking on Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com, he remarked, “Since our arrival in Morocco for these matches, the players have demonstrated exceptional dedication in training. Although the loss to Nigeria was unfortunate, there were clear signs of resilience and positivity.”

Reflecting on the performance against Nigeria, Asante Twum noted, “Despite a slow start, the team displayed commendable improvement in the second half. The players’ determination, readiness, and eagerness to secure a win against Uganda align perfectly with Coach Otto Addo’s objectives.”

These matches serve as crucial components of Ghana’s preparations for the forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic scheduled for June later this year.
