Djordje Petrovic has claimed that every team needs a player like Conor Gallagher.
The 24 year old is renowned for his all action style on the pitch with the midfielder covering every blade of grass and making lung busting runs throughout the 90 minutes.
Gallagher isn’t just about high energy and the England international has found his scoring touch with four goals in his last six games including last minute winners against Crystal Palace and Leeds.
Goalkeeper Petrovic was full of praise for his team mate and when asked by Sky Sports what players he felt were underrated he said: “Conor, a game against Arsenal I think it was 88th minute he pressed one centre back, he pressed the goalkeeper.”
“I turned to Reece James, ‘What is that?’. He played 88 minutes and he made the pressure 100-150 metres changing direction. It was crazy. I think he is very good and every team needs a player like Conor.”
Amazingly it appears Gallagher might not be at Chelsea next season with the midfielder out of contract in 2025 with seemingly no breakthrough in talks over a new deal.
Gallagher came through the ranks at Chelsea and has made it very clear that his preference is to stay at the club with Mauricio Pochettino also keen for the midfielder to extend his stay.
The former Crystal Palace loanee has made 36 appearances in all competitions this season scoring 4 goals and providing six assists.
He is a doubt for tonight’s game against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge due to a virus.
