Chelsea scouts go to obscure Portuguese city to watch one of their top striker targets score again

Portuguese football paper Record have just put on their cover this morning that Chelsea scouts were at the friendly between Portugal and Sweden in Guimaraes last night to watch Viktor Gyokeres in action.

His team were on the wrong end of a5-2 beating, but the striker kept up his incredible record this season by finding the net in the second half.

Scouts aren’t going to learn as much from international football as they might at club level, but we’re sure they’ve seen plenty of Gyokeres for Sporting already, and might have wanted to see him in a different setup.

It really seems that the red hot form that the 25 year old is in might be keeping him on our shortlist for this summer, despite whispers that Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko are preferred options.

You can point to flaws in his game, but for as long as he keeps scoring at such an incredible rate, it’s hard to write him off completely.
