Hopeson Adorye ‘dynamite’ interview: CID invites Accra FM journalist

The Accra Regional Police Command has written to the management of Class Media Group’s Accra100.5FM “to request assistance” in its investigations into Hopeson Adorye.

Adorye said in an interview with the station’s political talk show ‘Citizens Show’ that he blew dynamites in the Volta Region to deter supporters of the main opposition National Democratic Congress from voting in the 2016 elections.

A letter signed by ACP Nana Kwaku Duah, Regional Crimes Officer, dated Thursday, May 23, 2024, stated: “The regional criminal investigations department has commenced investigations into the alleged statements made by Mr Hopeson Yaovi Adorye in a programme dubbed ‘Citizen Show’ hosted by Nana Otu Darko on May 2, 2024.”

“It would be appreciated if the host could be released to report at Accra Regional CID on Friday, 24 May 2024 at 10 am with a copy of the audio and video recording of the aforementioned programme to facilitate investigations”, the CID appealed.

Mr Adorye was granted 20,000 Ghana cedi bail on Thursday after being arrested and detained on Wednesday.

While in cells, he was visited by Alan Kyerematen, an independent presidential contender and Movement for Change leader.

Both Mr Kyerematen and Mr Adorye left the NPP prior to the party’s presidential primaries.
